Caulking/ Air Sealing
Leaks and drafts can affect your home’s atmosphere. That’s where air sealant comes into play. Filling voids and cracks where air can leak into or out of your home can increase comfort, reduce energy costs and make a healthier indoor environment for your home. Air sealing helps keep homes more comfortable by filling gaps and voids. Caulking the joints most typically found at wall plates, headers, king studs and jack studs significantly promotes air flow resistance throughout the whole structure, not just the cavities. Sealant can be installed on top plates and bottom plates, at wall intersections, sheathing joints, band joists and any junctions of dissimilar materials that are prone to air leakage.
Intumescent Coatings/ Painting
Exposed polyurethane spray foam requires a fire-resistant paint or coating be installed as a thermal barrier to keep your building safe and fire code compliant. Intumescent coatings protect the spray foam insulation in the event of a fire by delaying the rise in temperature, delaying the spray foam from igniting.
